Clinique La Prairie Spa at Ten Museum Park
February 7, 2009 by Lucas Lechuga
Currently, the spa is doing a soft opening but I was told that it will open to the public on February 26, 2009. Here are a few pictures that I took:

The steam room

The ice room with snow falling from the ceiling.
Okay someone’s going to have to explain the Ice Room with the snow. That’s new to me.
LOL ! I can just walk out onto my Terrace right now to experience ice and snow…I guess this must be a novelty thing for south florida residents…but I guess a less than appealing amenity for northerners.

Overpriced Swiss body treatments, $900 monthly car payments, $500 per foot condos, $2,000 bottle service at “da club and a good for nothing lying president are all a thing of the past.. Why did La Prairie bother? Really, it is not like Downtown Miami is a cosmopolitan mecca, where rich women come to shop all day then need to stop in the spa for treatments. A real money maker would be a good old fashion whore house.
Mr. Waverly:
You’re interesting, You’re old school. What do you want? You seem to have a good grip on the market. You also seem like somebody who can be trusted. Good for you. If you see a great deal and want some money, let me know.
Samson
What’s wrong with 900/month car payments? J/k. The spa treatments are excessive.
samson, it appears Mr. Waverly wants a good fashioned whore house because as everbody knows, strippers and prostitutes are impossible to find in Miami.
What do you do while snow is falling on you from the ceiling? Reflect back to your northern heritage or should I just not ask?
The Smart Money predicts that this business will thrive based on the huge numbers of failed flippers and greedy speculators in Miami who will be looking for such a place in which to drown in their sorrows.
Misery enjoys company.

A rare double post by The Smart Money.
In response to Post #6: There is no shortage of strippers or ladies of the night in Miami as to what profession do you think that all those 6% percenters turned to once the real estate market dried up in Miami.
The Smart Money will tell you, they turned to the oldest profession a profession that requires even less training that their previous profession as realtors. If one were to scour old copies of the Sunday Real Estate sections of the Miami Herald you’ll find numerious photo’s of attractive former realtors from which to take your pick of the best looking ladies now plying their wares in gentlemen’s clubs and on the streets of Miami. And the good news is their fee is no longer 6%
The Smart Money.
The maximum that the Smart Money would pay for a former 6% percenter is $125.00 per square inch.

i think the snow room at da spa is going to lead to mass confusion for many folks in this town.
“oh wait a second…i thought you were talking about the other kind of ‘snow’ for $100 an hour bro!”
The ice room is where the very rich and snobby will go to have drinks in their mink coats!!
What SPA amenities or services are included in the monthly HOA fees?
big deal. that mrketing isn*t going to work any longer. I want value and reasonable hoa fees.

SWISSLUXURY.COM…….I just checked out your website…very nice.I will be in touch in the near future about a watch for my Wife.We will be down to Florida soon to check out a couple of condo’s we’ve been watching.Maybe we can see you then. Thank you
Lucas,
Seems The Mark is missing from your condo list. Perhaps you could update your site to include it again. Also Brickell on the River South is not listed, not that anybody really cares if it is missing. Thanks.
Any news on Avenue? I recall hearing some issues regarding major funding or buying to occur in the building. Latest update? For the right price, i think the building could be a great buy. New, great location and nice design would make it an ideal young professionals and couples building without the waterfront price. This building could be a prime example of a bank selling off the units (at a loss now rather than later) to fill a building with true end users and stabilizing the HOA and all other issues associated with delinquency.
gables,
Thanks for the heads up. I just added both.
I haven’t heard anything new regarding Avenue. The developer was looking to sell his remaining units in bulk. I heard that he has multiple offers on the table but I haven’t heard whether he’s accepted any of them. One agent I spoke with told me that her client offered $175 per square foot but their offer was rejected.
Perhaps all the Bangbros talent can use the spa before getting nailed. They’ve filmed at least around a dozen porn movies in 10 Museum in multiple units.
Great Post
Still, all kidding aside, its almost astounding that the spa actually opened. It will be interesting to see how it does. I’m hoping that the brand power of the name is something that goes over us guys heads because it doesn’t smell like a growth industry to me right now snow or no snow.
I could not agree more, Sean.
Perhaps Ten Museum operates in a completely different social class as myself. If the spa is successful, then i guess i am justified in not buying in the building because of price. Apparently i do not belong in the building. but if the spa is a failure within a year, those selling units in the building better reassess their list price if they have any desire to actually offload their unit. this will be an interesting building to watch over the coming year.
Lucas,
Off topic – any reason that the last recent sales and rentals information at the Plaza is from September? Lack of information or no movements (MLS rentals/sales) since September?
Thanks!

Interesting concept: Film a scene in the snow room and see if freezing temps turn foot-long wieners into………
After the steam room usually people go in cold water or ice cold well but you can actually jump into snow. IT is very good for your skin. I’ve never seen ice rooms before but it is kind of cool.
I know the pictures are just point-and-shoot so perhaps they don’t honor the quality of the interior design…. but let me tell you. I am not impressed. Looks rather boxy.
THis is a great Spa, we need more like this in Miami
They don’t even have a website for the Miami location from what I can tell by searching Google…how on earth do they expect to build business and a local following (even if the economy were strong)? Surely the business model is not based solely on traffic from Ten Museum Park residents??!!
Ace, stop calling yourself “the smart money” because after reading some of your comments, you are far from it. Still living at moms waiting for those $125 per sq ft properties to pop up everywhere?
I just moved to Miami from Geneva Switzerland and have been waiting for this spa to open.
