Plaza on Brickell – A Look Inside
January 15, 2008 by Lucas Lechuga
We weren't able to gain access to the swimming pool deck at Plaza on Brickell today but I was able to see it from a couple of the units that we saw.
Overall, I was impressed with the building and the condos that I saw today. I’ve mentioned before that the condos at Plaza on Brickell offer the best prices that you’ll find of the new developments in Brickell. There will finally be a more affordable option to buyers in Miami. Hopefully, within the next couple of weeks I'll get some higher-quality pictures of Plaza on Brickell that I'll post on this blog.
maybe they set colors straights!
Omar: Mary Brickell Village is full of people on saturday nights and it very safe, police is always around. MBV is becoming a hot spot
Omar,
I completely agree with you on the nightlife, not much going on after 10 in the area.
And for the hype of Mary Brickell Village, for those of you who have not ventured out there after 10 on a Friday or Saturday night, I suggest you take a look. (terrible)
Coconut Grove or the Gables will offer much more nightlife, cafes, shopping, etc, etc, etc…
nice resort
the plaza on brickell is in my opinion the best buy.
it is in the middle of brickell avenue, great location and it looks better than JADE to me. I saw it and it is amazing. Pool deck is gigantic and nice amenities.
It is right on 10th street and 1 block from marry brickell village, than you have mandarin hotel next door and i do not think that you can find a better location in miami right now.
icon and other buildings just do not come even close compared to the plaza.
Superb location and superb building will always do well Lucas. I bought unit here and i love it
Lucas I made some pics for you

Alejandro,
I heard that they began last Monday.
Joe,
Thanks. Those pictures look great!
My dad was one of the architects on this project. Pretty cool to see it done.
last monday started closing.
Lucas I think this building will do well cause it looks great and it is done well and has GREAT LOCATION. From all buildings i like this one the best for some reason. Not because I bought the unit , just i like location and look of it.
When did the closings begin?
anyone,
What about the amenities? Both towers will enjoy the same amenities? Don’t you think it will be overcrowed?
each building has own amenities plus they have two big pools and deck is over 1 acre
Nice building, Nice finishes. I’m pleasently surprised.
But, I disagree with the comments GREAT location. For those not familar with the area, it’s located in the center of the Brickell business district. Which is an OK setting but not much in the way of NightLife. I wouldn’t want to be walking to or from MB Village late night.
With that said, these factors could be overcome if it were waterfront like the Jade, the Plaza is not. Needless to say that is one gigantic factor.
The location is good but I would consider it’s potential just average.
I love this building and can’t wait to see it inside. The only thing I don’t like are the changing lights on the top. Am I the only ones that thinks they’re tacky?
Juan,
I have to agree. So far, that’s the only thing I don’t like about the development.
For the price and for the location this building is an excellent option! If you want night life move to south beach, where you can find plenty of disaster (if that is the kind of place where one wants to live) The lights on top GTG unless they make them white.
Well nightlife in MBV and Brickell is growing.
Centro closed down but LEVEL 25 Lounge inside the Conrad is nice on 25th floor. Segafredo Brickell has the Espasio Negro Lounge which caters to a more late night btl service crowd and the rest is just regular bars like Blue Martini, Red Bar and Dolores. 66(Bricks) was the only club club but that’s preety much dead now. So lots of bars but don’t expect much action after midnight with the exception of perhaps Friday night and Espasio Negro.
Agree you can walk safely in the Brickell area at night even late.
The interior does look great on the Plaza.
Regarding the lights love lighs on building no doubt it adds a visual and commands attention however, the one on Plaza just seems a bit out of place. Kinds looks like it’s a light that would go on an Art Deco Bld not a modern looking one like Plaza. Especially with th echanging lights it is just very peculiar on it.
you should cover miami beach too because all the other blogs either do not get updated enough or just stink
I agree I do not want so much drama in brickell. If i want nightlife i go to southbeach. i do not waanna see crackheads all day long
Lucas,
I am interested in purchasing at Avenue @ Brickell. What are your thoughts for this property, any insider information that you can provide?
Thanks!
C
the plaza has one huge problem, 1000 units, does anybody here understand what that means. I have been to buildings with a lot of units 800-900 and it s always a nightmare. the elevators take forever and if you have your car parked with valet it takes them 2 years to get it for you. i love the building and location, but 1000 units? thats insane.
Cerati,
I’m supposed to get a listing at Avenue on Brickell from a lady that is supposed to close within the next 10 days. I’ll have a better take on how it compares to other developments in Brickell once I get inside. The pictures that I’ve seen of a finished unit at Avenue look nice though. I’ll let you know if I hear anything new.
Raffi,
This is quite true. Getting your car out of valet at One Miami is quite a nightmare and they have something like 896 units.
The valet at One Miami is horrible, and its always full so visitors cannot come and visit becuase on weekendends the valet is always full and there is even traffic going into the building. I like the Plaze on Brickell but having 1,000 units will be a problem assuming everyon moves in
Not only is the availability of valet parking an issue, but the new buildings are charging $10 – $15 to park on the weekends. (usually $5 during weekdays)
Although coupons are usually offered by most associations, for each visitor you have on the weekends, this coupon will probably cost you $5.)
Any available units at a very good price right now on plaza?
Lucas,
Please send me an email once you have more information.
Much appreciated. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
Lucas,
I’d also like an email when you have more information on the Plaza.
Thanks, love the site.
Are parking coupons used with the valet availble on ebay, or a reseller? How does one get a book of them.
thanks.
Marcus
Based on the current situation in new buildings around the Brickell area, Plaza will most likely be 70%-80% renters.
Individuals with sufficient cash flow to own a second home will target the beaches, Key Biscayne, Miami Beach, Aventura, etc. etc.
half of those will be second homes so it wont be so busy
Yes, I will have a unit for sale in the taller of the two building (851 Brickell Ave.). It’s a 2+2 Penthouse suite facing East on the 54th floor. Living area: 1,180 sq.ft. + terrace: 120 sq. ft. 10′ ceiling with upgrade appliaances and full backsplace in the kitchen. The lower floors offer 9′ ceiling with lowerend appliances. Asking: 510,000. If you are a serious buyer, let’s talk.
I just made an offer on a unit in the 901 building although Kevin’s comment is making me second guess it. I think the 851 building will have better views as downtown Miami will also be in the view.
I offered 505k for on of the xx10 units – which is a penthouse as well, 1400 sf.
Any comments as to whether this is a good deal? Also Kevin, how can I contact you? I would definitely be interested in your unit and I am pre-approved for the mortgage.
Mike, the 851 building will definitely have nicer views in my opinion, especially on the uppermost floors. I bought a C unit (2 br 2 ba) on the 51st floor over three years ago, hoping to move in. But it appears that work issues are going to keep me in the Northeast for quite a while, so I’ve decided to sell. If you’re interested you can e-mail me at [email protected]
Hi, I really enjoy reading this blog. Good information.
Can anybody tell me what where the pre-construction prices for a one bedroom Penthouse (41st. floor, 847 SF) apartment at 901 The Plaza on Brickell or what would be a reasonable price to buy?
Thanks!
I am scheduled to close on my unit next week and it is available for sale if anyone is interested. its in the 851 building on the 17th FL. its a D unit 2/2. looking for $420,000 or make me an offer.
I am scheduled to close on my unit in 3 week and it is available for sale if anyone is interested. its in the 851 building on the 46th FL. its a C unit 2/2. looking for $499000 or make me an offer.
Interested in buying a unit @ The Plaza with good views and pref. 2/2. I guess kevin’s apart. has very good views. Contact me @ [email protected]
I know this entry hasn’t seen much activity lately, but I checked out the Plaza today and 3 things really struck me:
1. The elevators took forever. And keep in mind this is at a time when the building is virtually empty of residents, although there were a number of workmen. Perhaps they’re only operating a few of the elevators, but I can see this becoming a major problem/annoyance.
2. Nice pool deck. Large, open space although the two pools themselves weren’t huge.
3. The gym is pretty pathetic. I saw the gym in the 851 building, not sure if there’s one in 901 as well. But it seems to be really inadequate for the amount of units in the complex.
With that in mind, what other newer buildings in the downtown/Brickell area have really nice gyms?
I’m just moving in 950 Brickell Bay Dr. which is the official address of the tallest of two. corner unit above 41st floor (which are called “Sky Residences” ) have 10′ foot sellings, jacuzzi on master bath and high end appliences, range from $3000 to 3800 per month, the views are worth them but the elevators are a problem and parking will be also. I will stay away from ammenities since they lack quality and size of other buldings in the area, however I expect to work and live there and no need for night life nor a vehicle, so the Plaza is for me.
I moved to The Plaza a month ago on the 44th floor in the 951 tower. I look right at the changing fiberoptic lights and it makes a great night light and cool ambiance! Its not annoying at all. The view is spectacular, too; seeing all the city lights!
The elevators take a maximum of two minutes to reach me going up or down. There are 6 elevators and they are quick. The pool is busy on weekends with lots of pretty people. It looks like a music video – all 20-something year olds with killer bodies. There are two gyms and two clubs rooms, one for each tower. Fully adequate for the number of people who actually use the gym.
Night life is fine if you are a working professional. Plenty of dinner choices and bars. Who wants to stay out past midnight when we have to be at work around 9am? I am a 25 year old female and I walk to MBV almost everynight without problem- in case safety was a concern. Its the financial district and a “no panhandling zone.”
Security is great, too- you need a fob to access everywhere and can only access your floor, your parking floor, the gym/pool on the 10th, and the lobby. 24 hour desk, valet, and security guards.
I strongly recommend The Plaza if you want luxury living at reasonable prices.
