As of January 2021, Zillow ended their free rental listing service that filtered through the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). Going forward, any agents, brokers, brokerages, or sellers wishing to list their rentals on the third-party platform, will be required to pay a fee for listing their rental. Here is some information you need to know about the new Zillow Rental Manager.
According to Zillow, your first listing is free until it expires. Upon inputting your second listing, it will cost $9.99 per week that your property is active. There is an automatic renewal and payment after every week, but you can deactivate at any time.
Rental listings can be canceled at any time; however, you will be responsible for paying for that listing for the same week in full.
Short-term, the Miami Investments Team believes that this change will not strongly affect the rental market because of the number of ‘free’ rental platforms that are currently available. As for the long-term, we may see a decrease in rental inventory across their platform.
Although the Zillow Rental Manager may cause some roadblocks in the rental market. It is always important to find an agent that will represent you and your best interests, as well as help you navigate our forever changing market!
